This 20 bed detoxification facility is a 2-story 8,788sf building attached to one of the existing buildings on the UConnectCare (formerly GCASA Genesee Orleans Council on Alcohol and Substance Abuse) Campus, the Atwater Residence. The Atwater Residence is the community residence component of the campus. Other program offerings on the UConnectCare campus include an Outpatient Clinic, Methadone distribution clinic, and supportive living.
Operationally, the Atwater Residence and the new OASAS 816.7 facility will benefit from close proximity to one another. This will offer more flexibility and comfort to clients in transitioning to a residential program, in the continuum of care. The design of this facility is a nod to the historic character of the Atwater residence, but is sited and designed to be the secondary focus. The intent of the interior was to provide a comfortable home-like setting for advancing in the recovery of alcohol and drug dependency.
